About Us
DARO was established in April 2006, is a privately owned and operated company formed out of 30 years of experience and the corporate alliances of different experience in the construction industry from Germany and Europe.
DARO has undertaken floor leveling jobs, almost worldwide with a focus in North America, in the screed/topping, tiling, glass mosaic, and natural stone trades.
In early 2006, during the developmental stages of business relations in the Canadian construction industry, it was determined that special, 100% synthetic toppings / screed, delivered as a Ready-Mix in concrete trucks, which has been a standard in Germany and Europe for more than 30 years, and also used almost everywhere, are not available in the North American Market.
Once contemplated why such technologies shouldn't be introduced to such an industrialized and booming country, we then got together with the two worldwide, single manufacturers of the special binding agent in Europe, and entered into a contract for its export rights to North America.
DARO has established binder production and row material supply in Europe and complies 100% with OSHA's silica dust regulations since DAROTopp® is delivered as ready-mix and just in time to projects in regular concrete trucks though our ready-mix partners.
Preceding this, DARO was established, with its head office in Fredericton, New Brunswick, which now is located in Toronto, Ontario.
After a brief period of product and system presentations of the Ready-Mix DAROTopp® it was clear that this special type of screed / topping could have a substantial potential in the North American construction industry, resulting in our 2007 expansion into Ontario.
In the meanwhile, DAROTopp® is being used in various applications and is readily recommended by Spec Writers, Architects and General Contractors. With more than 10,000,000 sq ft already installed in Canada and some States in the US, the number keeps growing!
Our unique topping is batched by our ready-mix partners in Ontario, Manitoba, Alberta, British Columbia as well as along the entire US east coast and Washington State and Illinois. DAROTopp® imports the required binder for this unique topping from Europe, and delivers it directly to the concrete plants of our partners. They batch all DAROTopp® Products based on certain recipes that we developed & invented by using local aggregates in our DAROTopp® Research & Development Center in Germany.
With all of our floor systems, LEED credits are available for materials & resources, indoor environmental quality, no waste management, no Portland Cement content as well as energy saving capabilities. DAROTopp® is used in commercial, residential, instituitional, and renovation applications.
We have currently built a new batch plant for the Greater Toronto Area with our partner TecMix to provide our customers and friends with even faster and more economic solutions.
